Study Plan

The study plan for the first academic semester must be done by the program secretary according to the decision made between graduate student and advisor, and upload it to the system fifteen days before the registration period for the following semester. Established students can register their study plans at any time on the ACADÊMICOPG system,  respecting the deadline for changes.

The study plan must have NUT 779 – Seminário em Agroecologia in the first two semesters of enrollment, or in the second and third academic semester. It is also mandatory to include the subject Internship in Teaching (the subject code varies according to the teacher’s location).

For the English language proficiency exam, article 50 of the Postgraduate General Regulations is subject to the new requirements:

⇒ According to “Chapter XI – Foreign Language Requirement, in its article 50, English will be considered as a mandatory language to satisfy the foreign language requirement for the student whose native language is not English. The paragraphs of the aforementioned article are set out in the following paragraphs: §1 – ​​In order to satisfy the English language requirement, the student must pass standardized proficiency exams to be indicated by the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies, provided that they are carried out within a maximum period of 2 years. §2 – For students whose native language is not Portuguese, the Portuguese language proficiency exam may be required, at the discretion of the Coordinating Committee. §3 – The deadline for complying with this requirement cannot exceed the end of classes for the second period of the course, after admission, under penalty of dismissal. This deadline also applies to the student who bids for the registration to be closed. §4 – The Graduate Program shall define in its Internal Regulations the requirement of another foreign language, when applicable. §5 – The doctoral student, at the discretion of the Coordinating Committee, may take advantage of the English language requirement obtained in the master’s degree. §6 – The professional master’s degree may require the English language, as long as it is defined in its Rules of Procedure. P.S.: Paragraph 1 of the above article will only be valid for graduate students who entered in 2021. For graduate students who enter from 2022 onwards, §3 is what will apply.
